Stedi-Eye M25 (Observer)
Gyro Stabilized Binoculars 14x40
We are talking about gyro-stabilized binoculars used for long-distance surveillance, search and rescue operations,
evidence gathering, or tactical assessment of the observed situation. In civilian world this unit is great for boating,
hunting, trekking or outdoor sports.
With 14x magnification it's quite impossible to hold the binoculars steady, that is
why the unit uses internal gyroscopes to provide a stable reference that is used to move prisms and counteract any
motion (up to 98% elimination).
This unit is called STEDI-EYE M25 ("Observer" in civilian model) 14x40, made by American company Fraser-Volpe. FV
has supplied this unit to various armies and special forces around the world.
Let me put this straight, this is a really expensive unit, it costs $5,296 in the States
(without the Night Eyes night vision oculars).
If you want just a good pair of binos, you can buy a Canon, a Fujinon or even something Russian-made.
But if you want a
Bentley, then this Fraser-Volpe is a single-time opportunity.
BTW, if it comes familiar to you, then yes, it's exactly the same type which made Mr.George Bush famous for looking
through it with the lens caps on.. :)
